In short, Ben is a writer, surfer, terrible singer, exceptional reverse parker and most recently, also a father.
He grew up in Sydney yet attended college at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst in an effort to avoid a career in economics like so many of his friends back home. He accomplished quite a bit within those three ‘bright college years’. This includes (but is not limited to): learning every conceivable recipe involving potatoes, how not to cut his own hair, and importantly, graduating with a degree in Communications, Advertising.
After several years (and many unfortunate haircuts) at Euro RSCG and JWT, he sold his surfboards and moved to New York City where he joined Johannes Leonardo. In his time at the agency, Ben helped them quadruple in size, also earning them Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year in 2011. His campaign for Google, Project Re: Brief also won the inaugural Mobile Grand Prix at Cannes in 2012.
Throughout his career he has worked on a pretty diverse range of clients in both a traditional and digital capacity including Coca-Cola, Wrigleys, Foxtel, Bacardi, GE, Campbell Arnotts, Chanel, Frucor Beverages, Tourism Australia, Kellogg’s, Nestlé and of course, Google.
To date, his work has been recognised numerous times by Cannes, One Show, D&AD, CLIO’s, The Andy Awards, Young Guns, New York Festivals, Spikes Asia, some of his friends, his Mum and Dad, his wife and some fairly random but obviously kind people on Twitter. Furthermore, he was ranked 6th worldwide in the Young Guns 2012 Talent Rankings.
Subsequently, his wife suspects he loves advertising more than his daughter and herself.
